Binh Phuoc receive 104 remains of war martyrs back to the country

(Binh Phuoc Portal) - On the morning of 28/06, at Hoa Lu International Border Gate (Loc Ninh district), the Steering Committee 515 of Binh Phuoc province held a ceremony to receive the remains of Vietnamese volunteer martyrs and experts who died through the war periods in Cambodia back to the country. Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee - Mrs. Tran Tuyet Minh, Head of Steering Committee 515 of Binh Phuoc province chaired the ceremony.

Members of the Steering Committee 515 Military Region 7 and the province welcomed the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died through the war periods in Cambodia and the soldiers of Team K72 on duty to return home at Hoa Lu International Border Gate (Loc Ninh district).

After 122 days of performing the task, overcoming all difficulties in terms of weather, climate, terrain, 40 officers and soldiers of Team K72 with vehicles in service surveyed 26 positions in 2 provinces of Karatie and Kampong Thom (Camphuchia). The team has dug about 25.000m2, with 6.400 holes dug, scooping up 6km of trenches with a volume of about 26.000m3 of soil and rock.

As a result, the soldiers of Team K72 discovered 21 areas of martyrs graves, organized a search and gathered 104 unidentified martyrs graves. Up to now, the team has searched and gathered 2.948 remains of Vietnamese martyrs and experts who died during the war period in Cambodia back to the country.

The welcoming ceremony was solemnly held with the participation of members of the Steering Committee 515 of the Military Region and the province.

Stated at the ceremony, Member of the Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee - Mrs. Tran Tuyet Minh, Head of the 515 Steering Committee, recognized and praised the spirit of effort and high political responsibility of the K72 officers and soldiers who successfully completed the task of gathering the remains of martyrs in Cambodia in the 2nd phase, period XXIII (dry season 2023 - 2024).

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee - Mrs. Tran Tuyet Minh emphasized that the common spirit is to continue to search and collect the remains of martyrs until all information runs out. Therefore, Team K72 quickly stabilized, organized activities, learned from experience, continued to educate and encouraged soldiers to uphold their responsibilities; fully prepare all aspects, especially in terms of political and spirit, material facilities for the implementation of the task of searching for the remains of martyrs in the province and implemented in Cambodia in the XXIV period.

Leaders of Military Region 7 and provincial leaders gave flowers and gifts to encourage the spirit of officers and soldiers of Team K72 to successfully complete the assigned tasks.

In the immediate future, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee - Mrs. Tran Tuyet Minh, Head of Steering Committee 515, suggested that the Provincial Military Command coordinate with the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, departments, branches and unions to do well in preparing to organize a memorial ceremony and burial of martyrs in the most solemn way.

After the welcoming ceremony at the border gate, the group moved to the remains storage house at the provincial Martyrs Cemetery to burn incense to commemorate the heroes and martyrs, express their infinite respect and gratitude to the heroic martyrs who bravely fought and sacrificed for the cause of national liberation and the noble spirit of international solidarity and friendship.
