Deeper awareness of the vital meaning of Vietnam-Cambodia relations is needed

(BP Portal) - In the context of an unanticipated and complex world situation, a deeper awareness of the strategic significance, the vital significance of Vietnamese-Cambodian relations to the cause of building and protecting our fatherland in each country is given. In the category of activities to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam - Cambodia diplomatic relations and the Year of Vietnam - Cambodia, Cambodia - Vietnam Friendship Cooperation 2022, November 6, in Dong Xoai city, Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association, Vietnam Friendship Association and Vietnam Friendship Association shall hold the opening ceremony of "Friendship meeting and Vietnam - Cambodia People's Cooperation" for the fifth time.

Attending the ceremony, on the Vietnamese side, were Politburo member, Standing Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh;  Member of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, Head of the Working Committee of the National Assembly deputies, Deputy Head of the Central Organization Committee, President of the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association, Head of the Vietnamese People's Delegation Nguyen Thi Thanh;  Secretary of Binh Phuoc Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Manh Cuong;  Secretary of the Party Union, Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations Nguyen Phuong Nga and leaders of the Central Committee for External Relations, the Central Committee for Mass Mobilization, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Office of the Government, the Central Committee of the Communist Youth Union  Ho Chi Minh and 55 members of the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association delegation and 200 delegates, representing all classes of Vietnamese people in Binh Phuoc province.

On the Cambodian side, there were Vice Chairman of the Cambodian People's Party, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Chairman of the Cambodia-Vietnam Friendship Association, Head of the Cambodian People's Delegation Men Sam An;  Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Cambodia to Vietnam Chay Navuth and 55 members of the delegation of the Cambodia - Vietnam Friendship Association.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr.Pham Binh Minh -the standing Deputy Prime Minister stressed that Vietnam and Cambodia have a long, strong relationship, and are always united, sharing and helping one another.

The fighting solidarity between the two countries, laid down by President Ho Chi Minh and leaders of the Cambodian National Liberation Movement, has given rise to enormous strength for both combaters and citizens to overcome the difficulties and hardships of their history and past.

The Deputy Prime Minister stated that the Party, the State and the People of Vietnam consistently value strengthening and developing "good neighbor, traditional friendship, comprehensive and sustainable cooperation" with Cambodia.

"In the context of an increasingly complex and unpredictable world situation, the more we will be aware of the strategic significance, the vital significance of Vietnam-Cambodian relations to the cause of building and protecting our fatherland in each country; "Together determined to preserve, cultivate and pass on to future generations good traditional values and solidarity, friendship and full cooperation of Vietnam-Cambodia," said the standing Vice Prime Minister.

The standing Deputy Prime Minister welcomed and appreciated the cooperation between the two organizations of friendship and Cambodian People's Cooperation in the two border localities, Binh Phuoc and Dak Lak, where they have many significance and historical marks in their people's friendship relationship.

Acknowledging the important role of the people's foreign affairs, the deputy Prime Minister constantly asked the two countries' friendship organizations to continue to take practical steps to further strengthen the understanding among their people, especially among the younger generation, on the glorious and illustrious history of the Vietnamese-Cambodian relationship and to work together to preserve, nurture and develop the relationship to a new level. Contribute in a practical way to the prosperity of our two countries and peace and stability and development in the region.

On behalf of the Cambodian People's Delegation, The Cambodian People's Party Vice President and Cambodia's Deputy Prime Minister Men Sam An said that the events took place in the context of the commemoration of the 2022 Anniversary of Vietnam Friendship and 55 years of the establishment of diplomatic relations have helped to strengthen the friendship, solidarity and cooperation between the two countries and the increasingly lasting and sustainable development of Cambodia.

Mrs.Men Sam An sees Vietnam-Cambodia diplomatic relations with a 55-year period of growing extraordinary in all fields, especially during the new period; Stressing the ceremony, which took place in Binh Phuoc Province, the province borders Kratie Province and Cambodia's Mondulkiri Province have been a major site of close cooperation between the two countries, especially in the joint struggle to liberate Cambodia from the Pol Pot genocide.
 
Mrs.Men Sam An comments on the results of the cooperation between the two countries in the past that she needs to be more positive for the implementation of the 2022-2027 memorandum of Understanding, and that she has expressed her gratitude to the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Group for their support and support to Cambodian people through charitable, humanitarian and care for the Cambodian students' needs in Vietnam.

Mrs. Men Sam An aspired to the two countries Friendship Conference in general and to the local friendship Conference in particular, and especially to the border provinces to continue to cooperate to maintain the friendship between the two peoples, deterred stimulating propaganda by hostile forces in order to break the friendship of Vietnam-Cambodia.

According to this, the two sides have been actively involved in organizing activities in various forms such as exchanging parties, holding conference on shared experiences of the activities, conducting community activities in hunger eradication and poverty reduction, receiving free drug treatment, overcoming natural disasters, epidemics in each country, taking care of Cambodian students in "Friendship Nurture", publishing propaganda publications, and assisting entrepreneurs in Cambodia's investment.
 
In the coming period, the parties will actively implement the agreed contents in the memorandum on the coordination of friendship activities for the period 2022-2027 signed by the president of the two associations in August 2022 last month.

On behalf of Binh Phuoc Province leaders, Mr.Nguyen Manh Cuong- the Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam said that the province has land borders with the bordering provinces of Cambodia, the Party, the government and the people of Binh Phuoc province are always keenly aware of the importance of developing comprehensive and co-operating with the Cambodian provinces, while also insisting that they will do their best to strengthen traditional, comprehensive and sustainable neighborly relations between Vietnam and Cambodia as a whole. Between Binh Phuoc Province and the provinces in which you belong to the Kingdom of Cambodia in particular, for the interests of the people of both countries, for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and around the world.
 
The representatives of Dong Thap province and Mondulkiri Province provided information about their local activities and practices with provinces bordering on the border, thus building a bond of solidarity and friendship between the two countries. Among them, Dong Thap Province regularly organizes cultural, arts and sports exchanges with Prey Veng Province (Cambodia); The meeting on the National Day and the day of establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries; Maintaining visits, twinned, signs of cooperation between Dong Thap Province and Prey Veng, Po Sat, Banteay Meanchey (Cambodia).

Adjacent to Dak Lak, Dak Nong and Binh Phuoc provinces and Mondulkiri Province, including Cambodian-Vietnam Friendship Society, emphasis has been placed on strengthening Friendship, solidarity, cooperation, mutual assistance, and cultural exchange; To organize learning Tours and exchange experiences; Medical examination and treatment, giving gifts to the poor people in the border areas; To educate, guide and disseminate the border areas' people with knowledge about border treaties and regulations.

This afternoon, the two countries' delegation will attend a 10-year symposium on "Friendship Incubation" and share operational experiences among the vietnam-Cambodian people's friendship organizations.
 
The conference aims to draw a summary of the results achieved in recent Cambodian-Vietnamese friendship, drawing lessons and experience for the society in the coming years.
 
At the same time, the conference would hear the 11 papers of delegates from both sides, discuss and share experiences of local activities, organize and propose, make recommendations for increasingly diverse, practical and accessible activities of the people of both countries, helping to promote good neighborliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive and sustainable cooperation in Vietnam and Cambodia.
 
At the conference, the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Conference shall award the Commemoration of the Chapter for Vietnam - Cambodia friendship to individuals of both countries who make active contributions to strengthen and enhance the Vietnam - Cambodia friendship relationship./.
