(BP Portal) - The Provincial People's Committee has just issued Plan No.191/KH-UBND on IPv6 digital transformation for Binh Phuoc province's information technology services and networks in the 2022-2025 period.
IPv6 (Internet Protocol Version 6) is a new version of Internet address generation, designed to replace the depleted IPv4 address version. On 128-bit length, the IPv6 address space consists of 2128 addresses, providing a huge amount of address for the world's Internet operation.
The plan's objective is to convert from IPv4 to IPv6 for the computer network connecting the Internet, the internal network (LAN), the wide area network (WAN), the data integration center, the provincial information systems, software, applications, it equipment. Implementation of IPv6 conversion ensures transparent synchronization, safety, connectivity and backup plan without affecting the direction and operation of state agencies; Conduct testing, quality evaluation and stability of systems, equipment and applications before formal conversion is made.
Conversion implementation occurs in three phases. The first (2022) is the preparatory phase with: advocacy, awareness raising; Training, training; Hiring advisory units to coordinate with specialized information technology units in conducting survey and evaluation; Registration with the Vietnam Internet Center and allocation of funds ensuring the transition implementation. Phase 2 (2022-2023) implements connectivity, testing and formal transformation of several systems at the provincial Data Integration Center.
